Russell and Lori Brown are the owners of Quest.

Russell Brown, Campbell Bowen & Bobby Bailey were the innovators of Quest Air Hang Gliding, pioneering ultralight aircraft, aerotow skills, equipment and training.

Russell's credentials are endless. He was a top level competition pilot for a number of years, flew in the Cypress Garden shows, helped develop the Dragonfly, is a certified A&P mechanic, flies everything from hang gliders to helicopters and fixes everything we manage to break.


Lori is "the behind the scenes" gal.

Bobby Bailey is a legend in every respect.

His accomplishments include designing and building the Dragonfly and the winning glider of three Red Bull Flugtags. He is without question the greatest Dragonfly pilot in the world.


He is also a gifted movie editor and talented artist. He resides at Quest with his wife, the author Connie Bailey.

Jonny Thompson is a Master rated pilot, very skilled in both the tug plane and the tandem glider. Jonny splits his season between Quest in the winter and Kitty Hawk Kites in the summer.


Known for his incredible flying skills and warm personality, Jonny brings happiness to any situation.

April “Smackin” Mackin is a Hang Glider Pilot, Aerotow Pilot and Animal Trainer. She is focused on supporting women in hang gliding and is often found mentoring up and coming women pilots in the club house, on the flight line and on her tow line. April is a powerhouse of flying energy.

“Flyin Ryan Smith is the newest aerotow pilot at Quest. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Ryan has been flying since the ripe old age of 14. Ryan had his private glider license before his driver’s license! His first solo flight was on Orville Wright's birthday.


Flying is definitely in his blood. As one of four pilots in his family, flying is a family “affAIR”! Ryan has a schoolboy’s heart, a novelist’s eye, stout sailor’s legs and a license to fly!

Spencer “Spinner” Kindt is the Lead Instructor and Tandem Pilot at Quest. He has been flying for 23 years and is an accomplished boat tow pilot as well. With a ready smile on his face and his head in the clouds Spinner is the Zen Master of the Sky…Soar with him on your path to enFlightenment!

Dean Funk holds a number of titles, Competition Pilot, Advanced Tandem Instructor, Advanced XC and Flying Skills Instructor and Quest Web Master. Dean has competed through most of his hang gliding career and is a former member of the US National Team and competed in the World Championships in Australia in 2005. Dean has been flying hang gliders for 23 years.


He could be the most interesting man alive. Dean is 69% bird.

Dolores Mordasini is Quest Air's on-site Yoga Instructor. Born and raised in Basel, Switzerland, Dolores now spends half her time in Stans, Switzerland and the other half  living at Quest. Flying hang gliders has been her primary interest since 1979. In 2000, she obtained a license in France to fly trikes.


The other focus in her life is the world of yoga. She began teaching in 2006 as a Power Yoga instructor and, since 2011, has been working as a Chi Yoga Instructor. In this last year, she has added certification in Pilates instruction to her range of skills.



Yvonne Sargent is fluent in German due to the fact she was born and raised in Frankfurt Germany but, has lived in the states for the majority of her adult life. You can sometimes find Yvonne in the dog show ring as she shows and raises Golden Retriever's and is at the top of her class. 

She has successfully raised 2 children and has worked in the corporate world for 26 years. At the age of 47 she decided to make changes in her life and found herself at the heart of the hang gliding community. Yvonne loves to take photo's and enjoys her position as chief ground crew at Quest Air.
